Clubs and organisations for expats and travellers
Clubs and Organisations
As you would expect in an area with people from many nations there are a lot of clubs and organisations you can visit and/or join.
Whether you are interested in ballroom dancing, bowling or learning Danish you will find a club where you can participate in its activities and meet new friends.
Two which I can recommend most highly are www.ecademy.com which has an active group in Denmark – “A Friend in Copenhagen” (Ecademy Denmark). It is run by the charismatic and multi-lingual Tina Jonasen
Equally, all expats are welcomed at the regular InterNations events and even if you cannot or do not wish to attend their regular events, you will find it a useful source for expat advice, friendship and support. Recommended.
If you are a club president or secretary I will be happy to learn about your club and list it here.
Why Not Theatre Company
Why Not Theatre Company was established in 2007 by Nathalie Johnston and Sue Hansen-Styles, both British actresses living and working in Denmark.
The company’s primary objective is to provide audiences in Denmark with high quality, small cast theatre performed in English. It aims to present not only the works of some of Britain’s best known playwrights but also those of international playwrights: to cut across international and cultural barriers and explore contemporary issues and themes.
Why Not Theatre Company aims to stage productions that will appeal to a wide cross-section of audiences: not just to English mother-tongue audiences but also to Danes; not just adults but also young people.
